Her jowls jiggle when she jogs!

Thanks to my email on mouth taping, people I haven’t heard from for years are reaching out.

Some are asking questions, and some tried it and are amazed at how much better they’re sleeping.

One particular response totally surprised me.

Tamara saw the email and told me, instead of taping her mouth, she taped her jowls!

I was like, what???  Why???

Turns out Tamara is a jogger.

She loves to go on a long jog. But over the last few years, she had to cut down. Because while she’s jogging, she’d noticed her jowls jiggling.

Face needs a “lift” after hibernation?

Karen called me yesterday, asking me if we’re open for business. After four months of Zoom, her biggest client finally agreed to an in-person meeting in two weeks.

Thanks to staring at the damned computer screen for waaaaay too long, her face feels tight and saggy all at the same time.

She told me how much she missed my microcurrent treatments and wanted to book a session to help her “look her best” for the big meeting.

I told her…”NOPE!  You won't be getting the same old microcurrent treatment anymore.  I’ve got something better for you!”

Thanks to the COVID “holiday,” I was able to spend a lot of time researching and testing new ways and new techniques to help women dial back the time and maintain their ageless beauty.

With the help of my new business partner, Dr. Steven Yen, I’m “rediscovering” the importance of muscle function to our facial health and beauty.

It’s like we’re temporarily renting a pretty face from gravity, and as soon as we stop paying, gravity comes knocking and yanks it away from us.

There are 43 muscles in the face.

They help make your eyes look bigger and more energized.

They help make your lips look fuller, and your smile brighter.

They hold up your cheekbones and make them look higher.

Skin Care Tip of the Day—How to keep bacteria out

Health and Beauty Tips—

If you’re washing (Warshing!) more, as you will be during these times—especially important when you remove your mask, don’t forget to keep moisturizing. If you develop too much dryness this can lead to cracks that let bacteria find a way in. It’s important to keep your skin moist as well as clean. Using the Warsh Cloth each time you remove a mask that’s been on for longer than a few minutes is essential to clean and freshen the skin and help avoid oil and clogged pores.

And if you’re using sanitizers when you go in and out of stores and other places—who isn’t?—they are very drying. Remember, when we get through this to the other side—you’ll want your skin to keep feeling and looking its best. Hands always seem to show the signs of washing/exposure to the elements first and we’ll be washing them most at the moment! So moisturize your hands, too.

Need to sleep better at night?

If you wake up in the morning feeling tired like I was, it might be your partner and not you.

It doesn’t matter how much you love a person.

At one point or another, you wake up in the middle of the night and all you want to do is kick him off the bed.

Or, worse, put a pillow over his face and put him out of his misery.  (Sorry, David!!!)

Snoring.

The daily battle that never ends!

This disturbs your sleep. And a lot of other things in the health and wellness department—including the look of your skin.

If you’ve been following our emails, you’ll know that my business partner, Dr. Steven Yen, and I have been talking a lot about Face Fitness.

And the # 1 cornerstone to improve your Face Fitness is proper face posture.

This means keeping your mouth shut, teeth lightly touching, and tongue at the roof of the mouth.

This is anti-aging and youth promoting! (And check how you look in the mirror--the effect on muscles is almost instant.  But I digress.)

This also means you need to breathe through your NOSE!

God didn’t give you your nose to help hold up your sunglasses (or to keep masks in place!).

When you breathe through your nose, it filters contaminants in the air, humidifies it, and helps minimize things like dry mouth, bad breath, and gum issues. (Or COVID!!!)

But mouth breathing puts you at risk for a range of heart problems, diabetes, gaining weight, stroke, even high blood pressure.

David knows all this.

What he didn’t know is breathing through the nose will also help stop snoring!!!

Yes.  One of the biggest reasons people snore is because they breathe through their mouth and not their nose when sleeping at night.

This will drastically, and I mean DRASTICALLY with a Capital D, decrease your sleep quality!!!

The question is...how do you make sure you keep your mouth closed so you breathe through the nose when you’re sleeping???

Dr. Yen gave David a solution, a solution he thought was crazy at first.

Dr. Yen told him to tape his mouth at night.

Yes, you hear me right.

Dr. Yen wanted David to tape his mouth at night so he’d stop snoring.

It took some arm twisting and convincing to get David on board.

Dr. Yen explained to David that breathing through the mouth will lead to poor energy, making us age faster.

AND, this is the one that tipped him over the scale—mouth breathing also makes us look “less intelligent.” (I think he wanted to say stupid, but he was being nice.)

Really!

At this point, I was willing to do anything for a good night's sleep.

They don’t call it “beauty sleep“ for nothing. 😊

I took the lead… And started taping my mouth closed at bedtime before I asked David to try it.

After a few nights and a video on mouth breathing vs.nose breathing, David said, ”FINE. WE’LL DO IT YOUR WAY.”

Happy Wife means Happy Life!

At last.

We did mouth taping for three days now.

Pillow talk is a little funny... But taping worked! The snoring is 90% improved.

To say I’m shocked would be an understatement. This worked way better than I was expecting.

We both get our beauty sleeps and have more energy.

I stopped feeling cranky from sleepless nights.

And I’m confident we’ll soon be counting the ways in long-and short-term benefits—looking and feeling way better being number one!

Face Fitness—Want to avoid poking and prodding?

One of the ladies at our Face Fitness Eye Workshop said she tuned in because she doesn’t want to have her face poked and prodded.

Good.  She hasn't been brainwashed by the beauty industry and their slippery marketing ploys.

But like lots of people, she wants to do what’s best to keep her skin toned, fit, and bloomy.

She still wants to get rid of droopy eyebrows, and those little foldovers in the eyelids, not to mention crow’s feet, sags, and puff.

There seems to be so many options these days. The problem is—they’re mostly temporary.

Surgery and injectables have to be done again.

Fillers, re-surfacing (ouch), lasers—short-term and artificial.

And artificial beauty is temporary beauty

Another big thing to think about is they’re not cumulative… i.e., if you have botox, you don’t need less next time.

Everyone wants more natural options. Easier options. Safer options.

Some of you have seen my business partner, Dr. Steven Yen, talk about what you can do to stay ageless and beautiful in your 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond, naturally.

Surprise! It doesn’t happen in a spa.

You do it at home all by yourself.

All you need is you. And a little knowledge on how your muscles work...and 2 Q tips :)

And facial posture is the key, which is one of the 3 core anchors of Face Fitness.

It’s like when you remember to stand up straight… you look thinner and taller! In command.

And gradually you stand up straight more and more. It comes naturally.

It’s the same with Face posture.

And Tip #1 for you is to learn to keep your mouth shut!

No, Dr. Yen’s not being rude.

What can that possibly have to do with how old your eyes look???

Because when you have your mouth open, it creates tension around the eyes.

This affects the muscles and what do you get?

Droop, sags, and the dreaded folds!  Simple...and obvious.

So one of the key things we focus on in the Eye Workshops to improve your Face Fitness is to help you correct wonky facial posture or habits.

(Bad habits really… we all have some!)

To release eye tension, you have to keep your mouth shut. Plus there’s other things you can do to improve facial posture.

Remember, keeping your mouth shut is like standing up straight. It eases the tension that drags those eye muscles down, the same way slouching drags you down.

Here’s a quick exercise so you can see the difference.

Try it:
Open your mouth wide. Blink
Close your mouth. Blink
FEEL the difference in eye tension?

Remember, while there are options to help you look younger around the eyes...they’re usually temporary.

Do something that helps long term. Cumulative (and free!). (Microcurrent does this too, but that’s a lesson for another day!)

To make a big difference that lasts, first you need to learn how to correct your facial posture.

We went through this in much greater details (Dr. Yen likes to talk too much sometimes….actually, often!) during our Face Fitness Eye Workshop, and here’s an email from one of the ladies who attended.

Hi Maxine:

I am faithfully doing my eye exercises…however, I did not take a “before” picture, but I can tell you that there are definitely changes occurring….subtle but noticeable. For example, my eyes appear brighter, more open, and my eyebrows are much easier to apply pencil to, as they appear more even, therefore less fussing.

You asked for my other trouble areas: around my lips and downward to my jawline.

Is your waterproof mascara a pain to get off?

Nan came in for her first microcurrent  treatment. And said oops! She shouldn’t have worn mascara. It was SUCH a pain in the butt to get the waterproof stuff off.

I laughed and said hadn’t anyone told her about Warsh Cloths?

I launched into my spiel, feeling like a pushy sales woman (never!), and whipped out one of my Warsh Cloths to give her.

I started right in.  “The Warsh Cloth is good for your skin!” And probably went on a bit about how it removes grime and makeup with water only, NO SOAP NEEDED.

That it’s anti-bacterial.

It cleanses, exfoliates, and rejuvenates all-in-one.

It doesn’t dry out your skin like cleansers or have preservatives or leave product behind to interfere with moisturizers or clog pores. Plus it can be used again and again.

Nan looked a bit surprised at my enthusiasm—but she’s new, doesn’t know me yet when I get started on Warsh Cloths and microcurrent!

Total Technical Meltdown :(

Quick question for you.  ZOOM?  Love it or hate it???

As you know, we had our Face Fitness Eye Workshop on Thursday, and I’m sure you can guess what happened.

Less than 5 mins into the workshop, the internet god and Zoom decides to play a trick on us.

There I was, sharing with a group of wonder ladies how to get rid of Droopy Eyelids, Uneven Eyebrows, Crow’s Feet, Dark Circles, and Bags, all without Botox, Filler, and Surgical Procedures...and BOOM!

We lost the connection :(

I heard my business partner (and my not so competent IT person), Dr. Steven Yen, say crap, and just like that, the ladies disappeared from the screen.

Next thing I knew, he shoved his cell phone in front of my face, and I was back.

Sort of.

I could still talk to the ladies, but we couldn’t share the slides.

Slides I knew Dr. Yen worked really hard on, to illustrate what makes eyes beautiful.

And to show you the common aging eye issues & their cause.


And what you can do naturally to hit pause and reverse aging and have you looking ageless and beautiful.

So I kept yapping to stall for time as I saw him from the corner of my eyes, scrambling to get ZOOM working properly.

Eventually the Internet god decides to give us a break, and finally after lots of interpretations (and lots and lots of patience from the ladies....thank you, thank you, thank you, you were awesome), we got back on track and life was good.


One of the ladies sent me a message right after saying “That was great today ... I quite enjoyed the casual nature and information ... who knew.”


It wasn’t just a boring presentation with a bunch of information.

All the ladies actually got specific instructions and homework they should do to help get their eyes looking great.

Next day, two ladies sent me messages saying they look and feel more refreshed already.

So things almost worked out.

Almost, is the keyword here.

After the workshop, I checked and realized I got a bunch of messages from people telling me they couldn’t get into the workshop.

Daah...we were kicked out of ZOOM ourselves, so we weren't able to let more people into the workshop.

I felt terrible about that.

So, Dr. Yen and I were talking, maybe we’d do an encore presentation if there’s some interest.

We did try to record the workshop, but we have no idea yet how that will turn out.  So I’ll have to keep you posted on that.

In the meantime, if you missed it because you couldn’t get into ZOOM (sorry!), or you just couldn’t make it for whatever reason, and you’d like to join us if we have it again, please contact me and let me know.

Considering blepharoplasty???

When Vivian told me she was considering blepharoplasty, I didn’t know what she meant right off the bat. I googled!

According to google (the vault of all useful information….just kidding), blepharoplasty (BLEF-uh-roe-plas-tee) is a type of surgery that repairs droopy eyelids and may involve removing excess skin, muscle, and fat.  

It’s not my go to option because the thing about plastic surgery is it hurts, leaves marks and bruises, and then you have to do it all over again a few years later. Plus it’s not cheap. AND IT MAY NOT WORK...that’s how people end up on the internet as one of those plastic surgery gone wrong blog posts.

So I told Vivian all about my anecdotal evidence and to explore other options first.

Instead, I gently (or not so gently) nudged her to join our free webinar on natural and TOTALLY non-invasive ways to lift your eyebrows and help with eye sags and bags and wrinkles and crinkles. Who needs knives and scalpels? Go natural!

We’re having another workshop on Thursday. It’s free—plus you won’t need to wander around in sunglasses for weeks after.

Plastic surgery is an anti-aging option—but why even think about it when there are alternatives?  it’s invasive, costly, and doesn’t always help you look young, just ‘done’--

But the main thing is you damage the skin. Scar tissue is permanent. The result from the surgery isn’t.

Is vanity really worth the risk???

No way.  At least, at Ageless Beauty we don’t think so.

It’s ok to be vain...and sometimes we look in the mirror and all we see are droopy eyelids and saggy bags staring back at us.

It’s OKAY to want to fix it.

How you want to fix it is the question here.

It’s like my favorite white shirt  (Some of you know I love white shirts) -- somebody splashed Merlot all over it.

I tried all the usual but the stain didn’t disappear—there was no point sending it to the cleaners even—that sucker was there for good.

The stain is permanent.

Our skin and muscles are like that, too.

Once you cut them open, the scars are there to stay for the rest of your life.  

You may look good right after the surgery, but that scar tissue will come back to haunt you.  It will cause more tension in the long run and cause those droopy eyelids to return with a vengeance.

That’s why you’ll need to repeat the procedures again to maintain the appearance.

So if you’re looking for ways to feel good about yourself, start from LEAST INVASIVE OPTIONS and see how that helps.

And if you need another little step after doing your research and weighing all the pros and cons… who am I to judge?? But don’t pick the high risk option first and create more wear and tear!

Start with Face Fitness before you even consider treatments!  Do some DIY on your complexion and tone that skin, reboot those muscles!

All three are important; they all serve different purposes to help keep you ageless and beautiful. 
 
Today, we’re going to focus on the bread and butter, and show you how to firm and tone your facial muscles.

All you need are 2 Q-Tips!!! 

With just 2 Q-Tips, you can give yourself a natural face lift at home, without all the pain, side effects, and downtime.
 
We’ll use the Q-Tips to stimulate your muscles naturally and give you a workout.  

We do that by activating a sensor in your muscle called Golgi Tendon Organ, or GTO.

(This part is going to a bit sciensey…skip ahead if you want, I think it’s interesting, and important, too, if you want to understand how to get the best result.)  

These are special sensors that lie near the junction of a tendon with a muscle, and each of your facial muscles have one of these attached to it.
  
When you activate these sensors, they will make your muscles contract or relax, depending on how you stimulate the sensor. 
 
Think of it like a furnace and a thermostat.

When the thermostat senses the room’s too cold, it turns on the furnace.
  
When it’s too hot, it shuts off the furnace.

The GTO is the thermostat for your muscles, and it can make the muscle contract harder or relax more. 
 
Today I’m going to show you how to activate your GTO to contract your eye muscles to help you get rid of droopy eyelids and lift your eyebrows.
  
I’ll show you how to do other parts of your face in future videos….so keep your eye out for those.
 
The muscle we are working on today is called orbicularis oculi, it’s basically a fancy Latin name that literally means round muscle around the eyes. 
 
To get this muscle to contract harder so you can lift your eyelids and eyebrows, you want to bring the muscles CLOSER TOGETHER.
  
That will activate your GTO and get the orbicularis oculi muscles (i.e.,  round muscles around your eyes) working harder. 
 
And you can do that with just 2 Q-Tips…

As you can see, I recorded a video showing you how to do that, so watch it, and more importantly, DO IT!!!

Sorry, I Goofed :(

I got a call from my friend Genny yesterday.  

She told me how on point I was about botox, and how much she agreed it should be the last resort for any woman because of how toxic it is.  


She told me some stats about botox that absolutely blew my mind.   
 

I am doing some research on that and I'll report back to you shortly.  

 

She then told me how disappointed she is to not be able to attend the eye workshop because she's in Florida.  

 

She said her eyes can definitely use some attention to get rid of the droop and dark circles, and she'd come to see me when she gets back in town.  

 

I was a bit confused, but I didn't think much of it.

 

I was still shocked at what she said about botox.

 

We hung up the phone.  

 

Then almost immediately, I got two more emails telling me they wished they could attend the Eye Workshop next week, but can't because they don't live in Toronto.  

 

I was like…crap...I screwed up.  

 

Because of the COVID lockdown, I assume everyone knew this is going to be a VIRTUAL workshop.  

 

Yeah.  Large gatherings are still not allowed in Toronto, so the Eye Workshop is going to be done online through Zoom.  

 

And we've decided on the specific time as well.   

 

Most of you said you prefer afternoon, so afternoon it is.  

 

The How to Get Rid of Droopy Eyelids, Asymmetrical Eyebrows, Crow's Feet, Dark Circles, and Bags without BOTOX, Filler, or Surgical Procedures VIRTUAL Workshop (try saying that fast 5 times) is going to take place over ZOOM Thursday, July 16th, at 3:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time.  

 

My business partner, Dr. Steven Yen, (who's also going to be at the workshop teaching us something really cool about sleep) reminded me to make sure I tell you the time zone, and it's not Standard time it's Daylight time.  

 

Never had to pay attention to that.  Ever.  COVID is pushing me to get used to a lot of new things, for which I'm grateful. 

 

This virtual meeting and speaking into a camera instead of a person thing is really way out of my comfort zone.  

 

What can I say? I'm an extrovert through and through.

 

I'm doing this because I know it works and when it works for you, I want your testimony!

Cold Feet Before Botox

When the plastic surgeon asked Julia who she wanted to look like when her bandages came off, she thought he was attempting to be funny.

To her dismay, he wasn’t. It could have been his saving grace.... a good bedside manner was something Julia liked in a doctor.

She politely dismissed herself from the pre-surgery consultation and immediately called me.

I asked her why she went from one extreme to the other for Facial Rejuvenation. 

She said she always heard her late mother's voice, when her own inner voice was trying to talk to her, and she couldn’t quite understand what it was saying.

“And what did you hear your mother say to you?” I asked Julia.

She said, “Always be yourself!”

I had to smile at her even if it was over the phone. I immediately loved Julia and her mother.

As a kid, I was a bit “nutsie” and always wanted to be liked by the more popular girls who were liked by everyone.

Every time I’d come home with a new persona, my mother would say, “just be yourself!”

It took me a whole lifetime to understand there is only one you, and trying to be like or look like someone else makes you a poor imitation of the person you’re trying to be or look like.

So here we are, at that time of life when the choices for Julia wanting to look Ageless are multiple. 

To be honest, I continue to be amazed with all of the “latest” in anti-aging treatments...

We can have more procedures than we can imagine.

And who do we look to for advice on what to do?  

Celebrities who we could never, ever look like and won’t because we aren’t them?

Or…plastic surgeons and med spas, which give us pulled, plumped, petrified faces that are trending and make everyone look alike? 

How sad.

In Julia’s and my mom’s wisdom, we need to be and look like ourselves. Yes, to look and be the best we can look at every age in life and to be true to ourselves! Thanks, Mom.

That’s something I’ve lived by my entire life.  It’s also my  #1 priority when helping my clients become ageless and beautiful. 
 
I don’t recommend botox, filler, and artificial face lifts because it’s my STRONG BELIEF that artificial beauty is only temporary beauty.
  
We are not here to turn you into someone you don’t recognize when looking into a mirror.

Eye Bags and Dark Circles?

We sure are talking a lot about eyes these days.  Peggy said she was “happy” with the results she got from the treatment in our office.  But I can tell something isn’t quite right.  

I dug in deeper and she told me what’s still bothering her.  Even though she saw changes in her face, people are still telling her she looks tired.   

I instantly knew what the problem was.

It was the bags and the dark circle under her eyes. 

Peggy’s going through a pretty nasty divorce, and she hasn’t slept well for months. 

As much as we helped her lift her eyelids and eyebrows and open up her eyes, the bags and the dark circles aren't going away.  

Face Fitness and microcurrent can help lift and tone your face naturally without knives and needles (so no pain...yay), but it does have its limitations.  

If you’re still counting sheep past midnight, if you’re tossing and turning throughout the night, or if you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t fall back to sleep...you’re going to look tired.

He told us to ditch our to-do list.  

Yeah.  We all have one of those, don’t we?

Dr. Yen told us to get rid of our “to-do” list....aka, the “never will get finished” list.  

Instead, he made us create a MUST-DO list. 

Yes.  A MUST-DO list.  

Which means everything on the list MUST be done before you’re allowed to go to sleep.

So be careful what you put on this list.  Only the essentials.  One or two items at most, and make sure you GET IT DONE!!!   


Knowing you’ve accomplished what you’ve set out to do for the day will do wonders in helping your brain go to sleep.  

One of the ladies in the Beauty Bootcamp shared this practice with her friend, Lola.  

Lola lost her husband 8 weeks ago and “she’s a mess trying to get everything done and back on track.”

She thanked Dr. Yen during our last session together because the Must-Do list is really helping Lola put her life back together.    
 

There are other things Dr. Yen shared with us to help us sleep better, so we can get rid of our eye bags and dark circles.  

Because they’re so useful and powerful, I’m making Dr. Yen go through them again during our Face Fitness Eye Workshop.  

Yep.  We’ve gotten quite a few responses from you, so the Face Fitness Beauty Workshop is a go :)

We’re thinking of doing that next Thursday the 9th, just not sure if we should do it in the afternoon or the evening.

Stressed?

Penny marched along like a trooper, intent and focused, no smile in sight.

She'd lost her business.

She had to go back to work to make ends meet.  

Hey eyes kept zapping to her phone waiting for the next interview.  

Guess what?  She bumped into me and spilled my coffee.  Ouch.  

So we started talking, and she told me what’s happening.  

Me being me… I put in my 2 cents. 

Yes, things are stressful for Penny.   And focusing on the stress only adds to it.  

I told her, she probably doesn’t feel like it, but she should try smiling for a change.  

Fake it if you have to.  It will help a lot.  

Your brain can’t tell if you’re giving a pretend grin, so your system goes into stress reduction and lowers your heart rate anyway.  

It gives your body the “relax signal” and gets your brain thinking that everything is good.  

Even if it’s not, it will be soon.  

Penny needed to loosen up. Otherwise she was going to go flying next time she tripped.

Right now, her neck and shoulders, in fact her whole head, were locked in worry position.

It’s the same with her face.  

Laser focus tension 24/7 on the face will freeze your muscles—making you look worried, create wrinkles, and older than your years.

Right now, Penny didn’t look confident, relaxed, and ready for anything that might pop up. 

Releasing the tension in her face should be job number one. 

Then she’d feel and look a whole lot better— happier, younger, and more confident— ready to attract the best job.  

She finally gave me a smile. 

Wow, did that help!!! 

She felt so much better she actually invited me to lunch.  We had a great time.

Exhausted from taking care of everybody else?

Anka was so tired she said she’d gone to bed the night before at 8, and still looked like hell when she woke up.  She felt okay but had big, flabby, puffy bags under her eyes. Her lids looked saggy, too.

With her just-graduated-from-college daughter trying to find work in the scary job market, and a husband facing cardio glitches he’d never had before—she was exhausted.

When she wasn’t cheerleading her daughter onwards and upwards, or shopping, cooking, or communicating with clients, she was napping, wishing she could, or trying to squeeze one in! But she still felt 20 years older than her husband.

What Anka didn’t need was more naps. To stop looking tired, she needed her skin and her eyes toned up. But first she needed to release tension. 

Do you remember when you used to go to the gym—back before it shut? You stretched first. And that made the exercises go well and you’d feel better and all toned up and tight. Right?

The same applies. What Anka needed was to release the tension in her face and around her eyes from stress-clenching all those muscles before she could really do justice with toning.

Droopy eyelids???

Christine always looks tired.  Always.  

Even when she’s rested and has plenty of sleep, she still looks drained and can’t keep her eyelids open.  

The muscle that opens and closes your eyelid is called orbicularis oculi.  It’s a fancy Latin name that literally means round muscle around the eye.  

As we get older, this muscle (like almost every other muscle in our body)  loses its tone, and the eyes start to droop.

When you do sit ups, you get firmer abs.  If you do squats, you get a firmer bum.  

If you can exercise the eye muscles properly, it can regain its tone and you’ll be able to get rid of your droopy eyelids.  

At Ageless Beauty, we do that through Face Fitness and microcurrent treatment.

We’re thinking of putting together a workshop to help women exercise their orbicularis oculi muscle, so they can get rid of their droopy eyelids.

Nothing Makes You Feel Older Than This...

It should’ve been a good day for Sarah. Finally after weeks and weeks of being stuck at home, she, like everyone else, is ready to go out and shop!

Malls are now open in Toronto, and she really needs to get a new pair of running shoes, so she’s meeting up with her best friends and they’re going shoe shopping.


She picked out her dress, put on her lipstick, and that’s when she noticed something that ruined her day.

A new wrinkle around the corner of her eyes.

Nothing makes you feel older than seeing a new wrinkle around the corner of your eyes.


Nothing!


Those pesky crow’s feet are the bane of many women’s existence.


They are not like gray hairs where you can just dye it.


There’s something much more permanent about crow’s feet.


They are much harder to get rid of.


Much harder, but not impossible :)


Jo-anne from our Face Fitness Bootcamp was overjoyed when she noticed some of her crow’s feet disappeared after she did the eye exercise and microcurrent home treatment we gave her.

She also got an unsolicited compliment from her husband, telling her how great she looks.

She Sacrificed for her Family for Way Too Long

When I met Chloe, her 3rd and youngest daughter had just left for University.

For the first time in 27 years, Chloe found she had A LOT more time to
herself, and she didn’t like what she saw in the mirror!

“What happened? When did I get so old looking?”

She said she got used to feeling tired all the time long ago. “But when did
my face fall? And when did my eyes start to droop?”

She realized that she'd been busy since she was 22 finishing her post grad at University, having babies, and building a career.

She shared that she didn’t remember the last time she really looked at her
face in the mirror. Where did the time go?

She said, “I feel so lost, with no direction. For the first time since the
girls were born, I finally have time to enjoy my husband. He deserves my
attention. I want to look good for him.”

I could so identify with feeling lost, without direction.

When I graduated University, I was engaged to be married and move from my
home in Miami, Florida  to Chicago, Illinois.

It became clear while the wedding plans were or (weren’t) coming together
that this marriage was doomed, and I broke the engagement.

(Not to worry...it took me 20 years, and I met Mr. Wonderful… well worth the
wait!  It’s a good story with a very happy ending.   I can share it sometime
if you’re interested :) )

At 21, with my heart set on being a wife and having a new life in a new
city, I found myself lost without direction.

I suddenly had to move back home, start looking for a job, and reestablish my
life. I needed to push “reset” fast and just didn’t know how or where to
begin.

One night we had a very wise family friend to dinner.  She was the wisest
woman I knew.

Charlotte was my go to mentor whenever I needed advice.

That night, she took one look at me and I immediately broke down crying as I
poured my heart out.

Very sternly and directly, she said, There’s no need to cry! You're 21 and
you have the world ahead of you.

I told her how lost I felt.

She softened up and said, “The only place you need to look is within. The
direction is always found in your heart. Just follow your heart and you’ll
never go wrong.”

Her words resonated with me and I immediately felt better.

As a matter of fact, I always check in with my heart for direction in every
major decision I make in my life, and I  check in with my heart before giving
advice too.

And when Chloe told me she felt lost without direction I shared my story and
the advice I was given 46 years ago.

She smiled and said she knew she was in the right place. I made us some tea,

We had some girl talk and got her on the road to Ageless Beauty.

It’s been years since Chloe came into my clinic. Today, she’s getting ready
to become a grandmother for the second time.

She told me that her husband said she’s the youngest looking grandmother he’s ever seen!

Petrified of Looking Petrified?

My business partner, Dr. Steven Yen, and I have been discussing new things we can do for you this year.

We were remembering some touching calls we’ve been getting lately.

Mostly from professional women who have great lives, a successful career, and yet there’s one thing missing in their lives and it’s frustrating; they want to find the “Fountain of Youth” that allows them to look natural and avoid going under the knife, Botox, and fillers.

They are petrified of looking petrified!

Now, I am hearing this same thing from more of my clients and I’m hearing it a LOT more often.

(I think it’s the new trend!) So this has got me thinking.

And here I could use your advice…

If I created a support program for women that are interested in Ageless Beauty tips and advice that enhances you naturally as you age, would this be something you'd be interested in?

We really want to help women who are “common sense” oriented and know they can look their best but need more information.

My friend Zina gave me the inspiration to create this program. She said with all the tools and knowledge she has, she still needs that extra help and encouragement. She said when someone holds her hand, it’s that support that she loves.

As a matter of fact, Zina is like me. I do better in a community that supports my efforts. We were talking about the fact that it’s more effective and fun to “do our faces” together--even online as we do now. We feel obligated to show up for each other. And we help each other get the job done.

Sometimes we have great intentions when we tell ourselves we’re going to start and maintain a self-improvement program. But for one reason or another, we just don't keep that promise.

There’s always something that demands our attention, and before we know it, we forget the promise we made to ourselves, and poof, it’s over.


I’m here to tell you, if we make the commitment to each other, the chance of letting each other down is much less. It takes a village, as they say 😉.

I can start this support program as soon as I hear from you.

I don’t want to build something and then find out nobody wants it.

Agonizing about looking old in the future?

Que sera sera

Whatever will be will be

The future's not ours to see...

Well, this isn’t the answer anymore.... we have lost trust in what will be and have given our souls and savings to medi spas and surgeons.

We tuck and lift and inject our faces with painful, harmful and risky products and procedures only to have it done again once the effects wear off.

And OMG what it looks like when those effects wear off...suddenly there’s a shock of age with no understanding of how it got there.

Secret's out of the bag, we fool ourselves by believing we look like we are that fake face. When reality hits it’s shocking because it wasn’t graceful or natural. It’s actually painful.

We’ve become slaves to our addiction to looking young. And we don’t know how to stop.


My girlfriend’s mom always looked so beautiful and natural at every stage of life. In Jr. High she was youthful and glowed. When high school ended she looked even more beautiful.

After University she continued to glow. What was her secret? I got my nerve up one day and asked her. She wasn’t very approachable, but she seemed to like that this nervy young woman (me😉)was asking her such a philosophical question.

She was into health food and supplements back in the 60s. She avoided the sun like COVID. She knew the importance of sleep and she did what she loved doing.

HOW TO BATTLE STRESS & SAVE YOUR SKIN

Improve your complexion 

You don’t have to do yoga to reduce your stress—but you should definitely be doing something!

Stress may cause a multitude of problems for your body— even worsening conditions such as heart disease, Alzheimer's and diabetes— plus stress is bad for your skin. 

Reduce stress for healthier skin

When you're too stressed, your body produces more of the cortisol hormone. Stress affects your health and well-being from muscle tension to stomach upset to sleep issues, depression, over or under-eating and lack of exercise.

Minimizing stress not only improves your day-to-day life, longevity and well-being, it improves your complexion. Too much stress increases your production of pore-clogging sebum. So if your pores are feeling the stress—with the resulting icky lumps and bumps that make you want to hide instead of getting out there and meeting people, pursuing goals, having fun, etcetera... it's a good idea to develop and maintain helpful stress-coping mechanisms.

Ways to fight stress

Try the usual prescription of sleep, healthy diet, vacations (see the photo!), more exercise (yoga!), relaxation downtime, old movies, a good book, a long walk, and injecting some fun into your life. Here are 10 ways to relax—including deep breathing or a few minutes of meditation, which you can do in a few minutes and lowers the heart rate and blood pressure. Starting the day with a smile at yourself in the mirror—aa you ask yourself not what you’re thankful for in your life—gives a big boost to limiting the stress factor and assisting with the wellness factor.

And because how you're treating yourself affects your stress levels —try a time out for mindful healthy eating. Stick to fruit and veg for a meal or two—and switch to H20 instead of sweetened drinks or alcohol... and do yourself some good.  Some superfoods, such as blueberries, are good for you inside and out!
